I was watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2NrUSOolCI I had to start laughing because if they did an 'Iron Chef' auqascaping type fish tank show. Watching Dustin put in dirt with manure while Amano is doing all this stuff. I have to think Amano and his camp would be so offended it would be funny. Organic dirt as crazy as it sounds does great things for the planted tank. The results are hard to deny.I've never had a tank look like this until I used dirt.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4oyf1gnmOAContinue

I don't think I want to put any thing i this tank but maybe a small clay pot and a big clump of wisteria. Anyone have suggestion of videos? All of the commercial fish farms I've seen don't even have live plants. Would you add shrimp? Thinking about breading a pair of blue rams. Also thinking about starting to bread shrimp. No part of the hobby for me and BensAquariums posted some really cool videos that got me thinking.http://www.youtube.com/user/BensAquariums#p/u/4/cnOTOO9nDEA Continue

idk if this is weird but you're like my fish tank hero :)
hey i was wondering how you keep your dirt from not getting anaerobic? I want to set up all my tank with dirt pretty much identical to your 125 but instead of fluorite using kitty litter.
yeah I know its kind of a strange thing but I did a lot of research on it and special kitty (walmart brand kitty litter) is literally just baked clay its been in one of my 55s for about three month and for me has been growing my ludwigia better than my eco complete under really low lighting haha. but after watching so much of you and Dustin i want to switch to dirt and i love the way you have such a deep substrate bed in three layers, im just scared of it becoming anaerobic and was wondering how you keep it from happening?
hey you dont run pressurized co2 right? but yet you have glosso and dwarf baby tears. tell me your secret lol?
The Glosso Stigma is doing very well close to high light. CO2 is not needed for that plant if you have bright enough light. I never could get HC to grow. I have non-dwarf Baby Tears growing in all of my low tech plants. It's all on the youtube channel.
