Clown loaches are very slow growing fish, But if you have one long enough they can reach full size. From what I understand about them is it would take a few years for one to reach full size, so i think it wouldn't be a problem to own a few. Later on would be the time to worry about their size, when they truly are giants. lol

Re Derick -  I have a few fish in my 75 gal now  -   two Bala Sharks ( about 5 inches ) ,  a nice size Angel ,  two Red Hook Silver Dollars ,  a Gourami , 5  small Plecos  and some Cory catfish......  but it would not be a problem cause I have three aquariums -  a 75gal ,  a 65gal tall  and a 45 gal  ,  I could move some fish around - lot's of room  .  The store I go to have the Clown Loaches on sale for  $ 1.99 ea  !!!   (small ones) .

I used to have 3 in my 75 planted, but they kept digging up my plants and making a mess at night. I tried again in my 30g planted a year later, this time just 2; same situation, dug up my plants every night. From my experience I wouldn't put them with plants, dirt, and a sand cap. Maybe gravel, or some bigger rocks around plants; if you have plants.

Thanks Turbo for that warning  -  I do have plants in two of my aquariums - the fish I have now don't bother my plants .

I have a planted tank and yes they do dig up your plants but if you cut a bottle and put it around it you should be good

Re:  buying some clown loaches  -  I have decided to get a few  "Oto Catfish" instead of clown loaches .  I think Oto's will help my aquariums instead of the loaches digging it up !!!!
