I bought some cichlids a week ago and need to know the name / type of one of them . Love the look of this fish - he is a bit thin but he is eating well . Please take a look at attached Photo - if you can help please reply .......

I'm thinking of putting some shrimp in my new  "Fluval Flora"  7.9gal tank that I aquascaped - I have heard that a tank with shrimp should have a lid on it or the shrimp can get out .  The Fluval Flora has a lid but when it is placed on the tank it leaves about a 1/4 inch  gap around the top of the tank - would this be OK or would the shrimp be able to get out ???

I bought a new " Fluval Flora " 7.9 gal aquarium that I'm currently using to raise 10-12  baby Angel fish. Long story but my two adult Angels had laid eggs in my 65gal six times b/4 and ate the eggs every time - so this last time I moved the amazon leaf that the eggs were on and put it in a 10 gal by itself - most of the eggs died but 10 - 15 eggs hatched. I have a couple of nice Angel Fish in my 65gal aquarium that have laid eggs about seven times & each time they have ate all the eggs.  On March 6th  thought I would give them a hand - I removed the Amazon Sword leaf that they used and put it in a breeder tank with no other fish in it .  Only about 20 eggs hatched and are 11 days old now. Hello  ........  three days ago I put 16 lbs of "Fluval Stratum" substrate in my 65gal aquarium and added quite a few live plants ( see photo ). I have noticed each day there are a few leaves falling off & floating in the tank ????  Don't think it is the fish that are doing it ???  Just wondered if this is normal for a few leaves to fall off after a fresh planting  ????  I am running dual T5's  and a DIY CO2  in this tank ........ Hello ......  just a warning to any of you out there that was thinking of getting some Plecos -  they breed like crazy - I ended up with close to a hundred baby Plecos in a few weeks . Make sure if you put them in your tank you don't have any place for them to lay eggs ,  unless you want a bunch of babies …
