So I am very late on this blog post, but I have a bunch of updates!!! First off I am selling back my Cory's because they are just not the right fish for a planted tank no matter how hard I try! Second off I have been toying with the idea of discus, but I think I will wait for my plants to grow in a lot more! Speaking of planted tanks my 10g definitely has pond snails so I need to fix that and quick! I bought plastic to make my own personal tops to my aquariums to try to reduce evaporation drastically and I know it is going to work perfectly!

Now for the exciting part; my salt water 29g tank. I bought a master test kit and did it myself to find out that my tank is ready for fish! 0ppm on everything and a ph of about 8.2 and sg around 1.023. I thought it would take a lot longer to cycle, maybe February at the soonest. I have not deviated from my choice of fish much since I mentioned it last. I definitely want 3 banggai cardinals and I think that is what I will start with. Then a couple of flasher wrasses. If the bio-load isn't too much I may get a blenny. This is all within time of course! The one thing I am not sure of is do I get a cleanup crew before or after the fish? I know I want to get a small pack from petco, but I don't want them to starve in my tank of nothingness haha.

I am way too excited for this and my grandfather shares in my passion for the hobby since he used to have fish himself back in the day. My girlfriend is a different story, but she will see once it is setup and beautiful. As far as corals I am going to wait for summer, but I am really digging the zooanthids! if I can get about 3 different colors and just let them take over I'd be a happy camper. I may experiment with an lps or two after I gain some experience.

Look out for pictures to come soon!

I appreciate any input whether negative, positive, or neutral!

Thanks for reading and don't be afraid to talk to me I could use the pointers as well as ideas!

Definitely get the cleanup crew first they will need to be fed because they don't live off of crap and algae alone. I'd feed em brine shrimp while it's just them in the tank. I also wouldn't buy a pack that petco has I would buy individually for your own needs. Go on YouTube and go to vivid aquariums channel then scroll down to the seventh video which is titled cleanup crew. This will show you some great things and I would always have an emerald crab in any aquarium. Hope this helps

I wish I had seen this in time! I did go and get a nice big piece of live rock though and I bought my fish. Thanks for the vivid reccomendation I ordered my cleanup crew so hopefully they get here by next week I'll be doing a lot of water changes though because my grandfather got me all the fish my tank can take all at once lol but as long as they survive I'm not complaining!
