I posted questions about my aquatic frog habitat but I'd like to update info on my Betta tanks and the Australian Rainbowfish.

I was able to update the size of all the Betta homes but one. Despite the 1.5 liter size home of this little red female waiting for a new home, she still has good stuff in with her. She's got a tiny little piece of driftwood with a fern start on it and one water wisteria stem which I make sure doesn't over take her bowl. I'm working as quickly as possible to get her a suitable environment.

All the other Betta tanks are between 1.5 and 2.5 gallons of water. They have under bowl heaters, tiny little driftwood pieces with java fern starts and stems of hornwort and things of that nature. I have to brag, their tanks look great. The water is clear, levels great, they look good. I look forward to finding the right bowl for my last girl. :-) The Bettas eat molly and guppie babies, an occasional pea and from time to time a few bits of kelp fish flakes.

The rainbows are in a 4 foot tank, live planted, driftwood with mature java fern, Moneywort, Ludwigia repens and water wisteria . I trim regularly and use starts in the other 8 tanks. Rainbow colors are coming in nicely. So far there have been no illnesses or issues including mouth soars from picking off the bottom of the tank or males sparing.  They're all growing like weeds and doing very well. They have a 70/30 diet with the 30% made up of molly babies, ground earth worms, brine shrimp and snails. Water changes 25% once per week.

I'm new to dirted tanks and kind of scared but I'll try it soon. I'll start small and build my confidence. Is a 5 gallon too small for a dirted tank? I'd probably only keep fry in that tank until its time for them to go in with the frogs. If there's another food source suggestion that can go in a dirted 5 please let me know.

So that's about it.  I'm loving my peaceful fish room which happens to be my dining room. Oh, I guess that's not it. In addition to the tanks is my trusty 7 year old Main Coon mix cat named Mary Jane. She does not go fishing or she's have to find herself a new home. I kid you not!

Until again, Faith
