So it has been a while since I have taken some time out to really brag about my progress. Not that there is much since I barely have time to feed the fish lately.
10 gallon planted tank is overrun by pond snails and looks like complete shit! I only see 2 white clouds left and 4 zebra danios. The good news, the shrimp are spawning like crazy! That is something I can sell back for some profit once the get to a decent size. I have been dying to tear this tank down and get a 30 gallon tall (24x12x24) if anyone has one they want to sell or get rid of. I would make it another salt water tank fish only.
55 gallon dirt planted looks sooo much better now that I finally did a much overdue water change!!! The down side was that the wood still wasn't sinking so I just took it out entirely and have it soaking in a bucket. I bought 3 figure8 puffers and I love them. I still need to take the gold severum out and sell it back. I didn't feed my fish one day and they went cannibal on a blue ram which sucked! The plants are showing a lot of regrowth and hopefully the cleaner water will allow the light to reach the lower ones better. Side note: one of my gold rams has itch I think and I know I should take it out, but do what with it?
29 gallon reef looks pretty good. I'm hoping to take a day out soon and rearrange the rockwork as well as frag some of my corals so that it will be distributed evenly everywhere. The same day I didn't feed my fish my McCosker made a jump for it :(. Devastating really. The chalk bass I finally got after looking forever for it made a jump shortly after getting it so I think I'm going to need a screen but it is so difficult with a HOB filter. Suggestions? This weekend Petco is having a huge sale so I will be going all out and getting another chalk bass, another mccosker, and a mandarin goby. I think my tank can handle the bio load of 7 fish. I'm going to have to redo the rockwork that day though because my neon dottyback will pick on them for his territory, thats what he did to the chalk bass. I wish my banggai cardinals would breed, but I guess I'll have to remain content with just the 3. Suggestions on helping set the mood? I also got a crap ton of snails and a few hermits and emeralds and peppermint shrimp to maintain the algae, but now there is red slimy stuff, might be cyano who knows?! I'm dealing with one thing at a time.
Hopefully all goes well with my future changes to my tanks and maintenance continues to get easier.
I appreciate any input whether negative, positive, or neutral!
Thanks for reading and don't be afraid to talk to me I could use the pointers as well as ideas!
