I just purchased what I linked below
Based on my calculation Ill be between 25 to 33 L/in^2 which is high to very high light range.
The reason for the large range in the luminosity is due to me not knowing the characteristics of the reflectors. I do know that they're not parabolic, or V shaped. They're simply bulbs in a box reflector and bulbs placed close together. Assuming the worst, Ill still be in a high light saturation. Ill finally be able to put my high light demanding plants in my main tank.
Also since I have pressure CO2 in my tank as of a lil over a month ago, I should be great with combating algae if it appears with the addition of the new intense lighting.
Lets hope all goes well once i get my lights in 1 week.
(fingers crossed w/ 90% confidence factor)
looks Sweet! what tank are you putting it on?
My main display tank which you see in my videos
i have one that is very similar. i run co2 and ferts. i had to turn of two bulbs per light as i was getting bba lke crazy.
thanks mark for the info. what kind of light demanding plants did you have in the tank while having all light on?
legit. I did 2, 2 30" T5HO fixures over my 40 gal - which is juuuust right for mid to high light plants- The reason I bought 2, 2 bulb systems is, 30 bucks cheaper. I dont have to pull bulbs if light is too high, or if I remove the high light plants. I can spread out the light better, and can run just 2 bulbs if i wanna. Ill have a video of the complete new 40 gal set up soon -
well like The Man i can turn them off as i have 3 switches. as far as what plats i had, i had dwarf baby tears lace plants a few swords and a few ulvaceus's when my baby tears melted i tried dwarf hair grass and got the same as they melted and would never grow but bba did. i am not saying it will happen to you but it did to me. i am in the process of buying new baby tears to see if they will grow now but everything else it growing awesome now
@Turbo I figured why not pay a bit more to have one plug instead of multiple plugs (simplicity is my game) plus this fixture has fans to help cool it down a lil bit which i believe is going to be needed. The lumen output increases with temp but only to a certain point at which is starts to decrease again, and also shortens bulb lifespan. Thanks for the feedback.
@mark provided ur baby tears had enough ferts thats good, but what kind of co2 injection were u doing - yeast reactor or pressure c02?
One plug, and fans.
i was using diy, i have pressurized now
