I waz juz wonderin' will deck and stainless steel screws harm an aquarium's livestock,what are the best screws to use inside the aquarium?

I have used plain hex. I don't know what is used in the stainless steel ones.

Stainless steel is safe to use. It's what I use to attach driftwood to rocks. Not too sure about deck screws, but I'm sure they have a coating on them. Probably zinc.

The only time you have to REALLY freak out with metal touching the water is if you have a salt water tank.  I'm not sure you could make a wrong choice here.

 

I've seen Dustin and other folks stick rusty metal pieces in their substrate to help their plants that need Fe.  Most red plants will get a much nicer red if they get good doses of Iron (Fe).
