I just doubled the lighting for my tank and started dosing a bit of Seachem's Flourish Excel liquid organic carbon. I have lace java fern, Ludwigia repens, marimo moss ball, and Rotala indica. I am wondering if there is anything I should know or be aware of after doing this? Is there any risk here? Is there such thing as too much light for these plants? Thanks for your thoughts!

Pedro hit this pretty spot on, the excel shouldn't hurt your tank and only help you plants, but doubling your lighting may cause algae issues. If you see algae issues you can lower photo period, raise lights, run less bulbs and slowly increase it overtime.
thanks very much! Starting to notice a bit of algae on the glass so i backed off the time as suggested.
Add a little radioactive uranium and you should be all set.
Be careful with the flourish excel. It's the only seachem producting with a "DO NOT OVERDOSE!" warning on it for a reason. I overdosed it once and it even killed my java moss.
i think i may have overdosed it because my lace java fern is starting to melt! I need to do a water change and cross my fingers hoping that i didn't ruin the plant! After a little googling, I found other people talking about the excel melting their JFs too. oops...
On the other hand, my other plants seem to love it!
