Pretty easy to keep. They enjoy water changes and make sure you have atleast 1 female per male. They also like a decent water current.

I personally have never kept rainbows, but I know that they need a tank at least 36in. for most rainbows. They also love it the morning.

i have six raindows 4 turqs. and 2 bosma. there in a 55 planted they are easy to keep love love love flake food along with some frozen my filter is much larger then my tank leeds so has a nice curent and they do love water changes (witch i dont do as often as i should) you will find them right where the fresh water is coming in just as joyful as can be also would say have more then two pairs if ur gonna or at least more females to males they arnt bad at fighting eachother when in low numbers but they do pick on the shyer ones if in a small group like 4 ......

Dustin's favorite fish... all the above advice is good. They also feel comfortable around lots of plants and will scatter eggs in them after a nice big water change and being offered some live food.

How many do you think could fit in a 46g bowfront? I have 2 boesmani (thinking of adding 1 more), 2 turquoise (adding 2 more), 1 Australian, and 2 red irain (adding 1 more), and one female angel. can I add the above number of rainbow to my tank?

A good rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon or one inch of fish per 12 inches of (water) surface area. These calculations assume that the tank is aerated. Of course if you want to put in less fish, that's fine.
