Hey guys! My name is Tyler and I love planted fish tanks. The substrate I use in all of my tanks is organic dirt capped with gravel. I currently have 4 tanks setup.
- 40 gallon planted/dirted tank
- 29 gallon planted/dirted tank
- 20 gallon long planted/dirted tank
- 10 gallon planted/dirted tank
- Fish consist of white tetras, white cloud minnows, australian and turquoise rainbows, angel fish, variety of shrimp, german blue ram, betta, SAE's, otto's, lampeye tetras, and a kribensis cichlid.

nice tanks tyler! noticed you use aqueon hanging filters too. i think they work ok, but i usualy have a slight brownish tint to the water. your tanks look pretty darn clear. how do you get all the micro particles out with just standard filters?
yah i'm pretty religious about tank maintenance and water changes... think i'm just a bit OCD with my tanks. most people don't notice a slight brown tint. thinking about converting to a canister style filter. they have the ability to layer various mechanical, chemical and biological filter mediums.
