Hi guys,

So I just switched a light from an acitinic (the blue light) to a regular T5 HO because I just learned that actinic does nothing for my plants. Anyways it's been a few days and since then one of my angels has stopped eating. Just wondering if the light change stressed him out and made him go on a hunger strike. Also how can I get him to eat again? Thanks for any help.

Pulled this comment from an article online to a girl that had the same problem as you: "It is possible that he is simply stressed and has stopped eating when things got out of whack in your tank. I would recommend a few more water changes and to get on a weekly water change schedule for a little while..." Then another comment reads this: "Sounds like your fish is getting attacked by ICH or some other external parasites.(flashing against plants). When the heater went out and the temp. dropped, this probably stressed the fish out to the point where it got weak enough for ich or other parasites to attack. Take a real close look at the fish and watch out for ICH...sometimes you can't really see them on the skin, but you can definitely see ICH on the fins and tail of the fish." ------------

I would definitely check for Ich because I just had a recent outbreak of it and stress can cause it and cause the fish to stop eating. That is the answer I think is most likely. ... In conclusion just examine for icy parasites. You can find multiple pictures online, as well as a picture of one of my fish with ich here: http://fishtanktv.com/forum/topics/ich-and-diatoms (its the first picture of the links. Hope I helped a bit...

Thanks for the comment. He started to eat today so I think he might be ok :)
