Is there a way to make your fishtank earthquake proof?

I was more worried about earthquakes on the West Coast, but apperently they followed me to Virginia. Does anybody know how to make tanks earthquake proof?

You Cant make them earthquake proof but acrylic tanks have a greater chance of surviving earthquakes and they can withstand more movement than glass plus put your tank on a sturdy stand so it wont fall to the floor .

Thats about it that i cant think of hope this helps

If you live in the Eastcoast of USA. I would worry now more about Hurricane Irene.

But as of Earthquake, acrylic tanks are recommended for most people. But if you have glass, there

are some simple was to reduce the chances such the tank borders areas have some dense foam

padding, your fish tank stand and tank is even leveled, putting borders around the tank like newer

style fish tanks, etc.

But the chances are that the seals would leak a little vs the whole tank breaks. But fish tanks these days can only do so much. Just have a back up plan of having a large tub ready to put the fish in. also a air pump air stone as well.
