Why can't you juz add tha plants in tha soil 1st and add yor substrates afterwards.Seems az though tha plants will be into tha soil better than adding them later.I understand that tha water haz ta clear but does that bother tha plants? I've done 2 plant tanks, luv how they turn out but som times when you want ta add plants som of tha soil leaks deposits.Juz purchased two 55 gallon tanks with these tanks I'd like ta build walls and have half dirt planted tanks iz this possible or what would I do ta keep tha soil from seeppin' through tha walls. So again any suggestions.

Well you might hurt the plants that way. Seems like more work too. But thats just me.

lol it was hard reading everything you wrote.

Thanxs Q, How will it hurt the plants? If I leave the plants potted ( just in case I want arrange them differently ),add them to the soil and carefully place my substrates around each plant.Next I'd add a sponge to my water hose to keep the water pressure down as I fill the tank. I've had plants with thick roots and you can't stick your finger into the substrates and add them without particles floatin' again, somtimes I like to add plants to my tank. But as you mention everybody has there own style.

Ikr

Hahaha

I've been thinking the same :)
