every time I put new anubius in my tank the rhizone gets all smushy and all the leaves fall off. It totally frustrates me because anubius is one of the easiest plants to keep and it's my #1 plan of all time but I don't want to keep buying it if it dies after a month. :( I attach it to rocks and driftwood like I'm sopposed to. I make sure the rhizon is not in the gravel, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. :(

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

thanks everyone.

do you have some pic?

no, sorry :(

The rhizone turns a yellowish color and gets really smooshy :(

How's your water quality, Brenden?  Have you had your water tested recently for pH, Hardness, salinity, KaH,  and are you supplementing your tank with liquid Fertilizers like Flourish or Hilena Crypto (Tetra Product)?

And how's the lighting on the tank?  Type/Spectrum/Duration? (Example, T5/6700K/ 12 Hours/day)

Please let us know, so we can help you figure it out.

Thanks,

Paul

umm, I honestly don't know about my light but it seems bright... It really shouldnt matter about light anyway scince anubius is a low light plant.

Any my water is a bit soft the ph is about 7, pretty normal. No ammonia, little nitrites/nitrates ( I don't know the difference :P) Everything is fine. I fertilize the tank with API leaf zone.

Oh, btw, my light is on about 14 hours a day.

the temperature is 82-24, I have rams and they like very warm water, don't worry, my fish arn't being cooked ;)

please lower down the hour of light to 8-10 hours.. 14 is just outrageous too  much lights!
This site here talks about some reasons anubias might die. http://www.anubias-engl.blogspot.com/
