First of all, thanks for the welcome. I love fish talk.

Unfortunately, I don't have either a photo album or a youtube video page, but I'll try to figure out how to get one going. The discus operation is long gone - a big pain in the arse and messy. But the plant aspect of the hobby is starting to explode with my new outdoor pond. Who knows maybe if the conditions are right in the pond this summer I can throw in some Discus and let nature take its course. But I have my doubts. Assuming conditions are ok, they could probably only withstand 3 months outdoors in my USDA zone (6B) and they're so expensive.

Right now I have a breeding pair of Bettas and some German Rams and Cown Killies which I'm hoping will breed.  I may decide to dedicate the tank to Altums. We'll see. Neons and Cardinals are another possibility.

Hey Jay, I like to goof on chat. Its not be the best place to learn but its fun. And If you can get GSPs attention and ask a good question, then maybe you can actually learn something.

I have Clown Killis - tiny fish. I've gotta google them if I really want to get serious about breeding them. But for the time being I've placed  6 in a 180 gallon with tons of protective cover in the form of submerged and floating plants. I believe they breed like characins. Blink and you'll miss it. Its very random - the male almost looks like he's attacking the female but she's actually scattering eggs.   

The drawback is they only lay several at a time and unless protected they can easily get eaten by snails or other fish - not sure if the killis eat their own. Also the babies are TINY and therefore vulnerable for awhile. I'm not gonna go thru the trouble of buying multiple tanks and incubating eggs. I figure with enough space and plants some of the babies will live and, as in nature, some will die.

I've got about 40 baby Bettas swimming around from 3 or 4 different nests built over the past 2 months. These babies survived without my help or feeding and all have nice fat stomachs. I fully expect to find some tiny killis darting around the tank someday - and when they do, I'll throw a video up on this site.

... Interesting about buying eggs - I've heard of that and am still wondering how it works. I'm sure some dude in Indonesia has it down to a science. Later Jay.  

You mean Albinos that came from Black Bar Endlers right?  Because any markings, including black bars, would mean they're not albinos.

All animals produce albinos - some more than others. The only time I've experienced it was when I bred blue bettas. About 15% of the babies came out white or near white. All you need is a  recessive gene. In nature the Albino Endlers are called a "Blondes". And from what I hear they're pretty common. Check out the conversation on this link:
