I've been surfing around tank tv for few hours now and kudos to all you studs out there with killer photos.  Super jealous.  I'm pretty happy and proud of my 3 tanks, and want to show off my plants,…Continue

Just wanted to throw some feeding tips y'alls way...Yah everyone knows about over feeding, or that a fish's stomach is about the size of its eyeball, or how the tank gets dirty faster and spikes…Continue

Hey fellow aquatic micro-biome enthusiasts! First off, like the rest of you, I am a huge aquarium geek!  I'm that guy that will drive 20 minutes out of my way to go geek-out on aquarium porn to the over-priced fish shops for an hour and a half, and only walkout with some flakes or blood worms, and plenty of ideas for a new tank to obsess over for the following months.  So I had a little 10 gallon overstocked with danios when I was in college (the first time) without a clue in the world as to what the demands of such a project were... needless to say it didn't turnout well for the fish, but in hindsight I have learned that those little bastards are pretty hardy fish because I didn't even know at the time that water changes or water conditioners were necessary. (Queue the "ROOKIE" card).  About a year ago I was tooling around on YouTube and came across ChurchImpactZeal (?) doing some videos and caught the aquarium bug.  Ten months later I have a 55 gallon and 28 gallon bow-front freshwater tanks, nicely planted, novicely aquascaped and they generally are well planned aquatic communities.  Recently I cooked up a left over 10 gallon to good use and dropped a couple puffers in it.... needless to say, I AM HOOKED!!!

OK, so I'm a little new to photographing aquariums, so be patient while I figure it out.  As I recall, it never seems to go well when I go to the zoo or Sea World and places like that.  The first few pics of the 28 gallon bow-front and 55 gallon freshwater tanks were taken at night with my smartphone, which I have to admit is on the slowest 2G network (it's cool, I guess I have the other 2Gs on lay-away).  So apologies for the small size and darkness of the photos.  I will be breaking out an actual camera and tripod sometime this weekend.  Hoping to get some good shoots of the individual fish within the tank.

Your info area is totally me, I have done that many times, even when I was ordering my pair of double reds from a fish hobby store. He said check in every weeks and I swear I was there 2 or 3times a week for a month (he was 45min from my house) and I would walk out once a week with a few plants. Anyway, awesome set up so far, and if you need advice I would be happy to help!

Thanks man! Iv'e actually had pretty good luck with this brand of filters. I usually over filter by at least 20 gallons, so that could have something to do with the good water clarity. Being heavily planted and doing weekly water changes helps also.
