gph for a 100 gallon tank an gravel/sand

if i dont put any gravel/sand on my fish tank and leave it bare bottom is that ok ? and if i do leave it bare bottom i have diy filter that i would like to hook up by putting 2 400 gph pumps on both sides of my 100 gallon tank is that safe for fish i plan to keep african ciclids and a arowana

that's a bad choice of fish to put together.

besides, 100G is far too small for an arowana.
