So the other day i got a aquarium rack (like the one you see in stores ) and im trying to build a cheap filter im thinking wet dry and i have a few question
1.can i use lava rock as a filter media ?
2.when i got the system each tank was separate when connecting the sump so the top rack didnt overflow into the middle racks it just went straight to the sump. Do i have to do it this way?
Hey so i got my 30 gal tank setup with dirt and all and didnt know bab tears needed to much light (2wpg )i was running a little less than one. so they are starting to turn brown so i moved them outside in a small container with dirt.
So my question is what led light would i need to get a nice carpet of baby tears? or what cheap fixture can i get
does anyone know how to maintain a wet dry filter so that the input and output is the same ? Is their some math formula saying that like EX (1/2 inch pvc makes 300gph )
if i dont put any gravel/sand on my fish tank and leave it bare bottom is that ok ? and if i do leave it bare bottom i have diy filter that i would like to hook up by putting 2 400 gph pumps on both sides of my 100 gallon tank is that safe for fish i plan to keep african ciclids and a arowana
Does anyone know if you can you use play sand in a african ciclid tank ? or even use beach sand ? or the cheapest sand out their please let me know
