I had a beautiful sail fin black molly in with my fish. That boy is big and beautiful but he's aggressive. I wanted so badly to keep him in there and cater to his likes and dislikes. I had to make a decision though, do I keep him in there because he's that big and beautiful or do I continue to let him bully and watch his victims fail to thrive?
When you get a fish you really like its hard to point to it and say, 'you're the problem' but sometimes that decision needs to be made and made before little lives are lost. I hate it, I do. I've got this big boy in his own set up right now where's he's in with one other fish that he surprisingly accepted. I'll find him a real home. I don't know, it feels very sad to think that he didn't work out because he couldn't keep his fins to himself.
In this photo the fish are shown eating from a fixture that's in with the frogs. When the fixtures get algae on them I move them over to the guppy, molly and platy tank. They tear it up! I have one algae eater in there as well. Tomorrow I'll take this vase out and return it and some plastic plants to the frogs. It's a natural way to clean and feed.
Lastly, my compost pile for worms which are fed to the frogs is doing wonderfully. I live in an apartment and I'm able to sustain a 10 gallon tub filled with dirt and thriving red wigglers. I make certain to bury all foods. I make certain to have green and brown foods as well as cardboard and dried leaves. The worms are doing well. They and the off spring of the fish seen in the photo are food for the frogs. There's a food chain y'all. I prefer to make my own chain links as opposed to purchasing them.
