Sometimes i wonder if putting in shrimps will induce stress to fish. Coz shrimps appears to be aggressive and looks like very fond to attack or disturb fishes.

The 55 has ich.....

So yeah the 55 has ich........ thanks to a festivum. I know its not his fault just feel like he tricked me. Ok so the story is i help out at one of my lfs and we had three fest. that got ich from being shipped to us got stressed and yeah i set up a medical tank for them in the back of the store and 2 died by the next day... they were already sick for awhile. the last one cleared up and got his color back so i took him home and put him in my 55 with the 8 rainbows, 2 angles, 5 rapheals, 4…

Exposed polytank

I always wished that i could hv spent enough time to dig a big hole and bury the tank. It looked a bit awkward now exposing the black tank on surfacs. Or i could have sink it to the ground probably 2-3 ft deep.

Water turning a bright orange!?!

I just set up a new 35 gallon, with dirt... I have about 2 inches of dirt on the bottom covered with about 2 1/2 inches of fine black gravel on top. I put tons of plants in there (not all at once of course), starting 2 weeks after I set it up. I had been changing the water day, and the water was doing just fine. Now... the water is changing to a bright orange color every 2 or 3 days without a water change! I don't have any wood in there or anything to change the color... What could be…

Fish not to keep in dirt...

Hey,
So I'm guessing that some fish are bad to keep with dirt. Like burrowing species? See I have a spiny peacock eel...awesome fish, love him, but he burrows. See I'm converting my tank to dirt. This coming weekend to be exact...so excited!
Do you suggest to give up the eel? I'm okay with it, I'll just exchange him for plants!
Also, any other fish you really shouldn't keep in a dirt tank? I'm aware to stay away from Raphael catfish. Any others?!
