CF-500 aqua-top 9v UV Sterilizer This is an inexpensive canister filter that I use . It moves 525 gallons per hour and has a 9 volt Ultra Violet Sterilizer for the eradication of green water algae . I also have a Fluval 305 that I also use . I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank . Jack Dempsey Cichlid and a Rainbow Cichlid . Very little maintenance on my part .. I think that the CF-500 canister filter alone would be sufficient by it's self .…

So, i'm pretty new to the plant world and have been starting out with some easy to care for ones like dwarf sag. My problem is that I get quite a bit of algae growth on my plants, which takes away from how good they look. I don't have any algae eaters, its just a 10 gallon tank with four golden white clouds. So I was wondering how I should keep the algae off my plants? Should I get some algae eaters? (If so which would you recommend for a tank the size of mine) Or should I just take the…

I haven't seen many catfish in any of the planted aquariums I have seen. I have 3 small Cory cats, 3 small Syno cats, a small Spotted Raphael, a small Pictus cat, a medium size Rope fish, a small Electric cat, a small Golden Dojo loach, a small Horseface loach, a small Banjo cat and a Peacock Eel along with my baby Yellow Sun Spotted cat and a small Asian spotted Upside-down cat. I have plans to move the fish into larger tanks once they've grown a little more. I would like to hear any advice…

I want to add live plants to my tank. I have a 55gal tank with an undergravel filter and 2 powerheads. The tank has been up and running for almost a year. I have several small catfish. A small rope fish. A small clown knife fish. A small peacock eel and a couple small loaches. I like to feed and that calls for frequent water changes. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone that could give me advice on this.

So I have been looking through all the pics and videos of everybody’s nice planted dirt tanks for a while and figured it was time to give it a try. I would like to lay it out here and possibly have you guys let me know if what I did was ok and how I could maybe improve, and propose a few questions.
Tank:
I decided to experiment first with a small 10 gallon. As it turns out my 4 year old has been wanting one so this was a perfect opportunity to set up my daughters…

Hey guys, so I've done a lot of work to the 25 gallon lately. I told you guys I ordered some Riccia Fluitans, got that in and the guy gave me way more than what I paid for, which was awesome! So I attached it to some rocks I had with a loofa. That method worked great but I had a difficult time tying it off. I tried to use staples but that didnt work out too well. I had to get some of my wife's sewing thread and tie it off that way. So far, a lot of growth on the rocks, which I'm super stoked…

How do you use the chat feature? I type my message in the designated space at the bottom of the chat window but don't know how to send it. The page tells me I'm signed in but what do I click to send my message?

Hey Guys,
So I just added some photos to my profile for everyone to check out of my 25 gallon tank. It needs some work done but I would love some constructive criticism to make it look as awesome as it can be! I am waiting on the arrival of my Riccia Fluitans. I am really stoked to get it so I can float it for a few weeks to get some good growth going before I attach it to some rocks. I am really looking for a few good background plants that will look great in my tank. I am…
