Goin to start up a saltwater tank

But i have a few questions... I have an old filter i used on a freshwater tank... Can i use it on a new saltwater tank or do i have to get a new one?

Extra 20 gal tank

Hey guys,

I have an extra 20 gallon tank with a heater and an aqueon filter for a 30 gallon tank and the tank is soon to be completely cycled and I'm still not sure what im gonna do with the tank. Suggestions would be awesome! I was thinking maybe a breeder tank for german blue rams or for something in that nature and then I was thinking of a angelfish breeder tank but then thought the tank was too small...Then I thought of a breeder tank for snails but idk. ANY kind of suggestions…

Fish Room Updates and a Dirt Question

I posted questions about my aquatic frog habitat but I'd like to update info on my Betta tanks and the Australian Rainbowfish.

I was able to update the size of all the Betta homes but one. Despite the 1.5 liter size home of this little red female waiting for a new home, she still has good stuff in with her. Overstocking Question: 55 tall with Albino Clawed Frogs

I'm aware that this is primarily a place for people who keep fish, however, I'd like to know if anyone can assist with my frog questions.

I've got a 55 gallon tank, tall with 3 Albinos and 3 molten African Clawed Frogs. These guys share a home with 2 goldfish that are about 4 inches each. Adding German Blue Rams with Corydoras

Hey guys,

I was thinking about adding 2 German Blue Rams (1 male, 1 female) to my 30 gallon tank with my 5 Reticulated Corycats. The only concern that I have is that will my Corycats become the victims of the German Rams aggression. I am also going to get some more plants for the tank also so everyone can hide. I'd like to hear what you guys/ladies think.

New Fish

So Im thinking about adding some bosemani to my tank in February but Im hesitant because I already have turquoise rainbows in there. I like the look of a tank with a single species of rainbows but at the same time i would also like some bosemani. Also Im afraid that because my current rainbows are of decent size now and there is a clear alpha male in the tank, will that effect the young bosemani's color and size?? Please give me some feed back.

switching tanks?

im thinking of switching my 36 gallon bow front for a 33gallon. why? its because i think that a longer tnak would look kinda cool and because its not as tall so more light can get down there waht do you think? is a 33 gallon easier than a 36?

Brown green algae

I've got a planted tank and there is some brown green (more brown than green algae) growing on some of the plants. I've wiped the plants off and did a complete water change (75%) and and also 2 small water changes (25%) over the past 3 1/2 weeks. This is my first tank, well it's my sons tank that I take care of. Fish are doing fine. I wish I could add pics to show everyone.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If need be I'll send some pics.

First Fish in My New 55 gal Dirt Tank

After a long week of waiting for finals to be over I finally got the time to set up my new aquarium. I knew if I started during finals week I wouldn't get any studying done and even without the tank it was hard to keep off of youtube and fishtank tv to learn about everything!

How I cure ich/ick in my planted tank.

Before I start, let me just say that how I cure ich/ick in my tank may work for you or it may not. We all try different things and different meds. What work for me is turning the temp up to 86 (at one time it was at 89 help the ich/ick fall off faster). I add aquarium salt in a 55 gal 5 table spoon. I then feed my fish bloodworms or brine shrimp but I mix it with metronidazole. I do a 10% to 15% water change daily to keep my plants from melting, yes it will melt into nothing.
