Anyone raising brine?

My tetras love frozen brine. So I'm interested in hatching and raising live ones. Any input on what to feed them?

Hi people,new too planted tanks .I've always kept Oscars and fancied a new challenge . So my tank was converted too dirt when my poor Oscar finally died and the first plant went in just short of a month later (5 days ago). I'm stunned at the growth . its running 4x 80w t5 . co2 is yet to be set up . cheers Al

Maybe ich?

So i have discovered this morning that my two silver dollars in my fish tank have white ich like spots on them. I think it might just be oxygen bubbles stuck to them but idk. So i raised the temperature of the aquarium, put in aquarium salt and ich treatment, and turned off all the lights in the room. Does anyone have any advice on beating ich? If so that would be great! Thank you!

I've been watching some of the youtube vids that dustin has up. So I decided to Join up. Looks like a great place to gain/ share knowledge. I went planted a yr ago and so far have kept the handful of plants I picked up alive. No raging insane growth tho.. So I'm lookin forward to learning some tips

Live Aquatic Plants

Hi, I have been adding plants to my tank slowly for a while now. No matter how hard I try it seems i cant maintain them and keep them healthy. I use flourish and CO2 booster but it doesn't seem to help. Any advice or tips on how to keep aquatic plants healthy would be great. THANK YOU!

Top Dwellers?

Hey everyone, so as you may know from my previous blog posts, i have a huge algae problem. But, theres also a few things that aren't that balanced in my tank other than the water quality. I've got (other than algae eaters) neon tetras, cardinal tetras and some rummy nose tetras in my tank. And i've noticed that they mainly hang out at the bottom of the tank and it just creates a really bad look as if they are crammed at the bottom, but they actually have a whole lot of space above them. like…

CFL'S

Looking into DIY cfl setup for a 29gal planted tank. Plan on lo tech med light setup for the time with plans to upgrade as I get more familiar with the hobby. Would appreciate any info on number of bulbs and configuration that I may have succes with. Even any two cents on the thought of going this route!!

Driftwood

i added driftwood to my tank and the color got pretty yellow. I am aware that this normal and i knew before i bought it. I also know that the color doesn't harm fish. But I was wondering if anyone knew a way to solve this and get my tank back to crystal clear. THANK YOU!

Algae eaters.

So, because of my huge algae problem (my previous blog post, check it out need help!) i bought 6 otto catfish for my 17.5 gallon (66 liters). they are really helping, but just in one spot, they bottom right hand corner of my glass. what do i do to make them spread out to clean all over. they don't seem to be munching at the algae. just sticking on the glass. not taking care of the huge algae pieces. ANY TIPS?

Newly dirty...

So today I dirted my first tank... A lil spare 10 gallon... It's soaking as I type already did a 90% fill and drain and refill... I think I did something right as the water is pretty clear...can't wait to plant the frak out of it...

Nitrate problem

Any ideas on how to keep my nitrate levels lower? The only thing I have been doing is large water changes, 60 gallons each week in a 90 gallon tank. Any filter accessories out there to help? The tank has a forest of plants, 12 or so larger fish with 6 neons and a half dozen baby fish in the last week. All my chemistry is great except the nitrate levels. Thanks.

aquarium rack filter

So the other day i got a aquarium rack (like the one you see in stores ) and im trying to build a cheap filter im thinking wet dry and i have a few question

1.can i use lava rock as a filter media ?

2.when i got the system each tank was separate when connecting the sump so the top rack didnt overflow into the middle racks it just went straight to the sump. Do i have to do it this way?
