Hey, the last 2 rocks I tried in my tank, raised the PH even though they weren't supposed to, supposedly!! I like to keep my tanks at 6.8 or so…

So Im doing a dirted/substrate tank for my 20 gallon
Im planning on using 1.5-2 inch dirt. Then cap it with flourite substrate. Then maybe another cap of pool filter sand for baby tears or small rooted plants.( or did you think it will spread on the flourite>?)
Then im going to build a DIY co2 system
It will be run a 40 watt at least 5000k light

How do u make aquatic plants that are growing underwater, to grow emersed?

So two weeks ago I dirted my 75 gallon. Did the whole drain and fill 6 times, followed by two extra 50 percent water changes. Into week two I still get ice tea water two or three days after a water change. Any idea how long this last? I have drift wood almost a year old now and planted on. Why is it that freshwater aquariums are perfectly fine without using RO water, and by using tap water, but saltwater aquarists say you MUST use RO water for marine tanks? (assuming there are no corals). Pls reply, i have never been able to get a straight answer....
